Coaching, fitness and personal training courses

Level 1 Award in Assistant Coaching (Sport and Physical Activity) provides learners with an introduction to coaching sport and physical activity at an assistant coach level. This qualification may support a role in the workplace, either in paid or voluntary occupations, as support for a Level 2 of Level 3 qualified sports coach. Successful achievement of the qualification enables learners to apply the principles of safe and effective sport and physical activity sessions to a group of participants, under the supervision of more qualified coaches.
Successful learners will develop an understanding of appropriate coaching skills and knowledge to be able to support the delivery and review of coaching sessions.
The sports covered will range from football, netball, TAG rugby, multi-skills, tennis, dodgeball, athletics, cricket, rounders or basketball.
It is also endorsed by the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA).
