Gaining confidence for work

The qualification gives young people an insight into the world of looking after a variety of animals. Prepare individuals to progress to a qualification in the same subject area, but at a higher level or requiring more specific knowledge, skills and understanding; Prepare learners for employment within the industry. The learner will be given the opportunity to do work experience. The course also encourages young people in learning about an area of interest.
They will then experience cleaning, feeding and handling horses, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, ducks, turkeys, geese, pygmy hedgehog, cockroaches, tarantula, giant snails, millipedes and our rare breed pigs. The course also requires the learners to handle a variety of animals of their choice and work out a balanced diet for them
